Further notes: beat Hornet after 3 days of trying. Got the Mantis Claw after several tries. Lost all my money multiple times just trying to get back up to the stag stop after getting the Mantis Claw, omg. I was EXPECTING to die lots to Hornet so that wasn't so bad, but THAT's the part that made me scream and throw my Switch. (I tossed it onto the duvet, it's fine.)
