not exactly a fandom dream but it felt like it SHOULD have been based on something.
I'd been kidnapped by a quirky collection of Bad Guys and taken to the grounds near a Spooky Castle to hide out; but they wouldn't go into the castle proper because Cursed Reputation I guess? So obviously I fled into the castle and they followed. I was terrified and running for my life the whole time, but every time one of my kidnappers got close, they ended up dying in increasingly bizarre and violent ways - falling off balconies and drowning in the pool led to getting shredded by thorny vines out of nowhere led to the castle just straight-up eating them and not even bothering to hide it.
Eventually I got to the top floor and learned that the castle was a living organism, but it needed a person to give them animus??? or something? and of course I was the castle's brand-new Chosen One. I was additionally given the power to choose whether the castle would act more like a predator or more like a parasite; I chose the latter, because parasites don't want to hurt or kill their hosts. And thus I became More Than Human in a 'you can hear Lovecraft shitting his pants all over the page' kind of way.
I know dreams aren't that deep but my brain rarely bothers with narrative so this certainly FEELS significant somehow.
