90's movie Shredder is best Shredder. Objective fact. ...first movie at any rate. Second one he's lost a couple of the sandwiches that otherwise would have comprised his picnic. (I'm not making much sense. I'm tired. Just go with it.) That bit where he confers Foot status on what was presumably a street kid snagged at my attention. I've got four fanchars based on that attention-snagging.

Thought: a good proportion of homeless youth are LGBT, kicked out or threatened by their own families. ("You are here because the outside world rejects you", etc.)

Thought: you don't, like, stop knowing ninjitsu after your master gets Got by four turtles, a rat, a reporter, and Casey. The Foot was implied to have at least partially disbanded after that happened, but it's not unreasonable to think that those homeless kids kept in touch and kept training in martial arts, either finding other teachers or training on their own.

Thought: it's not outside the realm of possibility that by the time TMNT '07 happens (they're kind of Early-Twentysomethings Mutant Ninja Turtles at that point, aren't they?), New York is dotted with dojos run by former Foot/Foot-hopefuls who are also, shall we say, marching in the Pride parade.

Conclusion: basically what I'm saying is in this universe, martial arts is gay culture.
