How I feel about this character: I'm a lot softer on Daniel than I used to be. I never hated him, but I guess it took a while to see past the reflexive 'kid sidekick' bias and understand what he brings to the table narrative-wise. He's a great foil for and reflection of Rodimus at different points, and I love how he's this kid growing up in the middle of these huge, universe-shaking events and just treating them as normal. And he smarts off at Cyclonus and you gotta love him for that. ;) All the people I ship romantically with this character: Can't say I've ever contemplated that, honestly. XD My non-romantic OTP for this character: Well, there's him and Rodimus, obv, and there's a hinted-at relationship between him and Optimus that never really gets explored... and he thinks enough of Ultra Magnus to want to throw him a birthday party which is just adorable. My unpopular opinion about this character: Uh, liking him, I guess. XD I will wave my 'Humans Are Necessary In Transformers' flag until I croak, and there's another flag attached to that that goes 'Yes, Even The Kids', and Daniel's one of the pioneers of the archetype. Yes, he has his moments, but so do the kids in TF: Prime, so. ;P One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: I wish we could have gotten some greater insight as to Daniel's relationship with Optimus Prime and the old guard of the Autobots. There's this great big blank spot in between Season 2 and the Movie that, while a great playground for fic, does leave a lot to be explored in the actual characterization of the newcomers to the franchise. my OTP: Again, pass. XD Not squicked out by it or anything, that's just not my usual wheelhouse. my cross over ship: Well, assuming Danny doesn't grow up to be attracted to robots, I can see his first love being a teenage superhero of some kind. I'm not familiar enough with either DC or Marvel canon to name any names, it just feels like Danny's in a good place to meet someone like that and has the right mindset to not be intimidated by them or any rogues gallery they might have. a headcanon fact: Whatever else he chooses to do with his life, Daniel grows up to be an adventurer and hero in his own right. <3
