I mean whatever she says to Lizzie she's keeping that option in her metaphorical back pocket, but what I had in mind was that she was going to try to either drive him insane or have him judged insane so he'll be stuck away in an asylum. According to my research that would still make Lydia a social pariah, but at least she'll be a pariah without her jerkass husband and his gambling debts! :D
