I just started an article writing gig, this is the absolute worst time to do one of these

....but as has been noted before, I Do Not Make Good Decisions. :DDDD Pick a prompt, give me a character/scenario/whatever/kumquat.

(post-game but not by much)

Tifa found Cloud in the chocobo stall, sleeplessly lounging on Hikari the gold's flank; he didn't say a word in his own defense, just budged up and let Tifa curl up against his shoulder. Within minutes she was asleep, but he wasn't far behind.

Nanaki came next; Cloud stirred when Nanaki stepped into the stall but didn't wake, and he took that as permission to curl up on Cloud's other side and rest his head on his folded paws.

He woke again briefly when Vincent entered; Vincent knew he was awake, of course, but did him the courtesy of pretending he didn't know as he eased himself down and rested between Nanaki's flank and Hikari's tail feathers, and Nanaki returned the courtesy by pretending to still be asleep as Vincent curled his legs up and tried to relax.

Cid nearly woke them all up, storming into the stable with Vincent's name on his lips; he stilled his tongue just in time, and gazed down at them all for a long moment. Finally he surrendered to what was clearly the order of the day, flopped down between Vincent's knees, and promptly started snoring.

Barret, awake for an hour from nightmares, followed the snoring to find the tableu of them; when he eased himself down next to Tifa intending merely to remind himself of what he hadn't lost, sleep snuck up on him and took him unawares.

Last was Yuffie, finding them all around dawn. She wasn't much the cuddling sort and wasn't tired at all, but she sat down and lounged across Cloud and Tifa's legs anyway, not wanting to be left out.
