Arceus punishes me for my hubris.
So they had to get in one last balm-throwing fight for the end-game Arceus battle, which I just absolutely hate, but after trying for an hour or so I began to learn a bit more patience and timing rather than just mashing dodge-roll and hoping for the best. Thus, I (technically, after several continues where I did not let the frenzy gauge reset) beat Arceus.
I felt pretty good about it. "That wasn't so bad," I thought. "Maybe I can learn reflex-based video games. I'm gonna go try something a bit harder."
So I revisited Hollow Knight. :D
Tbf I did finally beat False Knight (after four tries, and I had skipped him before so I had Vengeful Spirit), but Hornet remains the windshield my bug keeps smacking into at 60mph. I know I really should choose something easier for my first Metroidvania, but if I'm going to have to persevere through endless deaths, I need something that's adorable and story-rich enough to make it worth it as far as my dopamine factory is concerned.
