'Boots's fault, as usual
Snippet of a Kingdom Hearts/Sesame Street crossover. Yes, really.

Big Bird was just sitting down to his midafternoon snack of birdseed and artesian well water when a wailing blur of black and lavender sped down the Street and skidded right into him, nearly upending him and the table both. “Count!” Big Bird exclaimed, steadying his friend by the shoulders. “What’s going on?”
“Beeg Bird! Eet waz ‘orrible!” Count von Count was frantic, disheveled and glassy-eyed - it frightened Big Bird a little. He’d never seen Count like this before. “Creaturez - monsterz - in my kestle!”
“Monsters?” Big Bird tilted his head in befuddlement. “Like Elmo?”
“No! No no no. Not like Elmo. Novhere cloze to Elmo.” Count seemed to be calming down a little. Big Bird sat him gently down in his own chair and poured out a little birdseed for him; Count sank into a muttering trance as he counted the seeds out. Big Bird gave him a relieved smile and took a polite sip of his water. “Small black... things,” Count explained further, once he’d established that there were forty-three seeds in front of him, ah ah ah. “Big yellow eyes - two for each face. Zhey fill every room, vherever I go.” He rubbed a hand over his head, shuddering faintly.
“Now, I’m sure it can’t be such a disaster,” Big Bird reasoned. “I’m sure they were just looking for someplace to get in out of the rain.” Not that it looked like rain right then, there wasn’t a cloud to be seen.
“I vish I knew, Beeg Bird.” Count continued poking at the birdseed. “Zhey deed not zeem to underztand vhen I zpoke to zem. And... and...” He crumpled again, huddling in his shiny cape with his face in his hands.
Now Big Bird was really worried. “Count?” he thought to ask. “How many were there?”
“I - I - the shadows, zhey kept hiding in ze shadows, und -” Count lifted his head in an anguished cry. “I could not count them!”
Big Bird’s hands flew to his beak. “Oh no! Oh, Count, you poor thing... no wonder!”
Count nodded miserably. “Yez, I know. Eet’z very upzetting.”
