If you comment here with the words "I wanna play" I will assign you a number from 15-30 of facts about yourself to post about yourself in your journal.
guiltyred assigned me 26. So here we go. :D
1) I'm a military brat. The full list of places I've lived: Arizona (born there, lived there 6 months), Colorado, Illinois, Maryland, Germany, Austin & San Antonio, Alabama, Florida, Maryland again with 2 summers and 1 winter in Japan, Ohio, Virginia (6 years, the longest I've lived anywhere), before landing at long last in the UK with my lovely
apprentice_lurk. <3 ...this makes it super awkward when people here notice my accent and ask where I'm from. Fortunately the regulars at work are pretty much over it by now.
2) I identify as cis female, asexual, and homoromantic. Specifically I'm autochorissexual, which is a fancy word for 'ace who dabbles in porn.'
3) I'm a depression survivor. I spent a few years on medication for it; these days I mostly self-medicate with the Internet and hugs and I'm basically okay, though I probably could benefit from some type of therapy and I do not deal with stress or failure well. Looking back I got off pretty easily as these things go.
4) I've broken three bones (so far); all three breaks were the fault of Boys. Perhaps not coincidentally, I don't hang out with too many boys these days. XD
5) I have been writing fanfic since high school and creating self-insert characters since I was five.
6) I've also been drawing since high school, but my skills at drawing aren't much good still.
7) I have an associate's degree in graphic design from a diploma mill school that doesn't even exist anymore. To this day I'm pretty sure I would have been better off not going at all, but I was at my lowest point mental-health-wise at the time and was pushed into making a decision by my parents that I was perhaps not equipped or prepared to make. As it is I dabble in Photoshop, Illustrator and Flash but am not enough of an expert in any of them to be hireable as a graphic designer.
8) I have, however, sold three stories to a short story magazine. This was like three or four years ago though, and I haven't sold anything since. I keep trying though.
9) Beauty products are wasted on me, but I like painting my nails, especially if I can come up with a geek-related design.
10) I can't play any instruments, but I can sing pretty well.
11) I crochet, but I can't knit. Well, I made a garter stitch scarf, but that's the extent of my skills in that arena.
12) I also make jewelry. Occasionally I throw my pieces up on my Etsy shop, but so far nothing's really sold except my Materia necklaces. I'm working on an updated version of my White and Black Materia necklaces to sell, and when they're finished and ready to sell I'll finally take my shop off vacation mode. XD
13) I have dabbled in cosplay in the past. A couple of years ago I went to NYCC as Steampunk Moogle. I think I still have the mask somewhere.
14) At work I try to cultivate a super detached, emotionless affect. This is necessary because I am terrible at Human and being thought of as the team Spock is better than being thought of as the team weirdo-crybaby.
15) I consider myself a feminist, but I'm still very much learning how to be inclusive in my feminism. Twitter helps a lot.
16) I'm not hugely into anime anymore - I'd kinda like to get back into it though. My gateway drugs were Sailor Moon, Dragonball Z, Ranma 1/2, and Gundam Wing. (Is anyone surprised?) Favorite titles include Cowboy Bebop, Saiunkoku Monogatari (seriously one of the best heroines in anime), Fruits Basket, Kill la Kill, and Rurouni Kenshin. And RWBY. Does RWBY count as anime? XD
17) FF7 and Pokemon were the titles that got me into games, but the first game I ever finished (not counting that Mickey Mouse puzzle adventure thing for the original Game Boy) was Lunar 2. My tastes haven't really evolved out of JRPG-land since then. XD I'd love to write for that type of game someday.
18) I'm great at ideas, but not so good on follow-through. When I finish Dipolemacy, it'll be the first chapter-fic I ever finished. Not counting the Renewed trilogy, which was co-written with
apprentice_lurk. Having a co-writer does a lot to keep me honest. XD
19) I have a couple of faint scars on my face left over from a third-grade monkey bars misadventure, and one on my right index finger from where a bottle cap bit me a few years ago.
20) I have two piercings in each earlobe and no tattoos. I wouldn't mind having a tattoo, but I'm a wimp, and there's no design I want badly enough to try to overcome my wimpyness.
21) As a kid, I used to make stick-figure dolls out of pipe cleaners and play out adventures with them. These adventures may have been a little disturbing, all things considered. I was a weird kid.
22) I'm a tab hoarder. I have like four Chrome windows open right now with various numbers of tabs open on them. But I need them all, you guys, I swear. This is why I am constantly surrounded by clutter too.
23) I'm the one who does most of the cooking in our house - I enjoy it, it seems to delight my partner, and this way I get to indulge my frequent cravings for Japanese (or, let's be honest here, generically Asian) cuisine. She ends up doing most of the dishes, which is amazing of her because dishes make me twitch. Partially because it was the center of many of the power struggles between me and my mom, and partially because wet food crumbs, ewwwwww gross.
24) I got into board games because of Wil Wheaton's Tabletop and I'm not even the tiniest bit ashamed. In order to be into tabletop gaming as a kid, you kinda need friends willing to play with you. Or parents who have time. Now 'Boots and I have a small collection of awesome games, most of which came directly from the As Seen On Tabletop shelf. Again, no shame.
25) I cannot wear high heels. At all. No, not even little baby heels. I have enough trouble not falling on my face under the best of circumstances.
26) I have never touched drugs other than alcohol, and I'm not a huge fan of alcohol. I don't like the taste, and I don't like the dizzy feeling if I have more than one drink. Consequently I've never been drunk and I am totally okay with that. Any drugs harder than that are just out of the question - there is nothing that frightens me more than the prospect of not being in control of myself.
So, uh, that's me. Anyone else wanna talk about themselves? :D

Ok, I need to find a cooking partner like you. I love to wash dishes! Cooking though I only rarely have time and energy for, although it usually turns out fairly decent when I make the effort. Too much thinking and planning required for cooking, dishes you can just kind of daydream and scrub and rinse.
