This actually exists as a scribbly comic in one of my many craft-store notebooks. Which, typically, I can't find.
OC #20: Valkyrie “Val” Thompson [Power Rangers - original series]
Val is a student at a space-colony academy that trains the most successful Power Rangers in the sector, and her only dream is to become a Ranger. Unfortunately, she’s teetering on the verge of flunking out of school entirely; her performance in the Zord simulators is abysmal, and the stress of that is affecting the rest of her schoolwork. She’s contemplating cutting her losses and running when she accidentally stumbles on one of the academy faculty revealing his true nature: a spy for This Season’s Bad Guys! He might have killed her if not for the intervention of two mysterious Rangers who aren’t on any of the official rosters: the last remaining members of a notorious Ranger team who went rogue.
The rogue Rangers explain that they escaped their handler after he betrayed them to The Bad Guys, and that the acadamy itself has been infiltrated. They need someone on the inside to help them discover how far the infiltration extends. Although Val isn’t sure she trusts them, she accepts their offer of their fallen Red’s morpher to communicate with them and returns to school. All three are shocked when, at a school assembly gone wrong thanks to a Bad Guy attack, the morpher reacts to Val’s desperation by morphing her into the new Rogue Red. Val is further shocked when Rogue Red kicks all kinds of ass.
Now Val’s mission is to a) not flunk out of the academy, b) not improve her grades so much that her cover identity of ’team washout’ is compromised, and c) discover and defeat the infiltration with the support of Rogue Green and Rogue Blue, who are still mourning their lost teammates and find it as difficult to trust her as she once found it to trust them.
