1) Lando was never so gauche as to make Leia's hand in marriage a condition of his support of the Rebellion. (Because the best way to get Leia not to do something is to try to force her to do it.) He simply made his case very... very... persuasively. 2) He also turned a blind eye to the continuing association his fiancee had with a certain smuggler. Han was a scoundrel and Leia deserved better, but he'd never say Han wasn't good in bed. 3) Cloud City made her their darling. Even when she found out one of Lando's advisors was an Imperial agent and personally threw him off a balcony into a garbage truck. Maybe even especially then. 4) In retaliation, the advisor's wife ran it all over town that Leia was cheating on their governor with a common thief. 5) "Hey," Lando announced, "that 'common thief' is my husband."
1) Roddy found out he was an obligate vampire shortly after That Thing With Unicron, when he drank some regular medical-grade energon and was violently ill. When he woke up he had fangs, thus solving the medical mystery First Aid was frantic over. 2) Daniel thought it was the coolest thing ever. Roddy still has no idea how to react to this. 3) After his first 'diplomatic incident' ahem, Roddy starts spending a lot more time with former Decepticons (i.e. Drift and Cardoom) and Neutrals, which helps him figure out how to allocate resources, write new bylaws, etc. As well as just helping him make a lot of new friends. 4) And yes, Roddy and Cardoom do get to have that race. Galvatron will be glad to know Cardoom acquits himself admirably and beats the pants off Roddy. ;) 5) ...Roddy was quietly plotting his next trip to Charr before the shuttle bringing him back to Cybertron even landed. <3
-Viking AU- 1) Ulfginnung was not the only monster Hroði and Galdinn slew together, only the most famous. 2) One of the tales they tell about Galdinn in hushed tones is that he once tamed and rode the wolf Fenrir. This is almost true. 3) Hroði, by contrast, quietly encourages a rumor that he keeps such good mead because he can speak to bees. 4) Most of Hroði's oathsworn men were more-or-less inherited from his father, but a significant portion of them came from Lands Far Away, travelers and refugees that he integrated as warriors. 5) About half of Galdinn's oathsworn were geas-bound like himself; the other half were inherited from his father, and the latter group is wary of the former, suspecting that the lot of them are ever-so-slightly not human.
I think an AU could be considered a type of trope!
1) There are lots of rumors as to who Rufus's mother could be; all of them are wrong, because almost nobody in Midgar even knows Nibelheim exists. 2) There are lots of rumors as to who Cloud's father could be; all of them are wrong, though Tifa's mom got close once or twice. 3) President Shinra and Cloud's mom met when she was a minor tech in Shinra's space program. He didn't get overtly creepy and controlling until after he found out she was pregnant with his kid. 4) She had a vague plan to disappear after the kid was born, but she knew he'd never let her disappear with his heir. 5) And then she had twins.

1) They met on the training ground for the Galactic Games and became instant besties when Cardoom beat Hot Rod two races out of three, even though Hot Rod was the racer and Cardoom was there as a fencer. (After Hot Rod got used to Cardoom's style, he managed to win a little over half the time.) Cardoom was shocked when rather than having gotten Hot Rod In Trouble, Hot Rod's coaches were delighted that he'd found such a challenging practice partner. 2) After seeing how Cardoom's team treated him, Hot Rod baited Crash into a card game and beat him like a second in command. Which led to Cardoom's coach/commissioner showing up on Kup's doorstep to rant and fuss and Demand Satisfaction. Hot Rod was told to pay him back, but oops, he already spent the money treating Cardoom to a night out. :D 3) That night out resulted in a few minor 'incidents,' a bit of a reputation among various alien representatives, and Hot Rod and Cardoom making out under the docks. It was the best night of their lives. :D 4) Hot Rod lost his spot in the Games to a Towers-backed racer with a rumored Sigma power; Cardoom lost his due to Crash cheating. So they both found themselves at loose ends after the tryouts ended, and decided to go Adventuring together. 5) Total damage: six bars, a hotel, a dozen small criminal enterprises, a vast criminal conspiracy reaching to the highest levels of the Towers and exchanging finger bands in an amica-endurae ceremony in the gambling district of Crystal City. :D
1) Jazz makes a name for himself during the FNaF craze, both for his insightful picking-apart of the lore elements (Game Theory uses him as a source) and his hilarious reactions when he gets jumpscared. 2) He tries a few other horror games, but none of those series get quite as popular. So he turns to Transformers: Devastation and basically writes fanfic out loud for five hours. That draws in a completely different but no less enthusiastic crowd. 3) Jazz gets a Patreon, his updates get more regular, aaaaand he stages a Special Event LP when he buddies up with noted JRPG enthusiast Prowl. 4) The two of them spend all hundred and seventeen episodes arguing over every little detail of FFVII, until by the end they're just winding each other up for fun. 5) The series becomes their most popular ever.
