i dreamed that over the course of like a month or so the entire Solar System had gotten booted out of the Milky Way galaxy and landed in another galaxy entirely where physics was just different enough that everything just got a little weird in a vague unspecified way

which I know is not how space works at all but it'd be a great premise for some kind of fantasy space opera.

(the new galaxy's name was Fenrir, because I've gone a little bit Norse mythology trash lately)

The Fenrir Galaxy is inhabited by at least one Type-III civilization, who are the reason the Sol system survived more-or-less intact instead of colliding with another sun or something. They're functionally gods, but they're pretty chill guys fortunately for everyone. Most of the other sapient species in the galaxy are Type I-ish, or at least the ones the humans get to meet/hang out with. Earth/Sol showing up in their midst was basically like the equivalent of some feverish raving stranger suddenly fall through your door and Mom taking pity on him and putting him up in the guest room.

The main character is someone who'd been only a tiny baby when The Big Move happened, so she's technically an Old Earth native but she doesn't remember what it was like before. (Babies born after The Big Move are visually different somehow?)

And of course the different physics in Fenrir gives everyone superpowers, because why not.

So I guess a good plot would be some kind of mystery thing? Wherein the plot-driving mystery has connections to all the Stuff that happened during/just after the Big Move.

I wish I had dreams like this instead of endless variations of "I'm at an airport wandering around trying to find my flight/at the grocery store/at a shopping mall, when I realize, oh no! I'm not wearing a face mask! In fact, no one is wearing face masks and we've all been crowded together for hours! D: D: D:"

oh, no, I have mostly anxiety dreams too, as my fucked-up jaw from all the teeth-clenching I do in my sleep can attest XD
