Wasn't sure I was gonna write anything today. I got my ASD diagnosis today and that took up a lot of emotional spoons. But, well, the first one was directly related to my feels about it all and it just took over from there.

Transformers G1, Hot Rod & Optimus Prime, comfort no hurt
FF7(R-ish), Aerith, midnight, starlight, twilight
Breath of the Wild, Mipha/Link & Zelda, just as the sweetest apple reddens high on the branch-top...
TMNT, April & A Mystery, Victorian/steampunk AU
Tale of Tamamizu, Tamamizu, sunshine on a rainy day

I hope that having the diagnosis brings you all kinds of useful resources.

The thing I've found is the diagnosis doesn't tell you anything new. It's a confirmation someone else recognises the life you've been living, the difficulties you've been experiencing, and the trouble you've had with ordinary tasks that should apparently be easy, but are actually pretty bloody hard. It means you have someone else saying "no, there's more to this than just 'laziness' or 'stupidity' or 'being a weirdo'". An adult autism diagnosis isn't anything new: it's external recognition and confirmation of who you are.

The fact this external confirmation is what makes it a lot easier to access support services and get your needs met... well, it's frustrating, but helpful.
