A couple of half-baked original story ideas.
I get my best ideas in the shower, for some reason. ...I should stay in the shower longer. And hook up a recording device so I can babble on about whatever occurs to me and have it to listen to later.
$Protagonist is a depressed young adult who joins a suicide support website - no, a 'help you commit suicide', not 'talk you out of it.' After getting into the community and even becoming one of its contributors, she is visited by a pair of Otherworldly Predators - psychic vampires maybe? - anyway, they want to kill her so they can feed on her despair. Apparently depressed people are Nummy Treats, I dunno. Anyway, much to their surprise and her own, $Protagonist gets Good And Pissed Off and fights back like hell. She then goes on to... well, I haven't gotten that far yet, but basically it's a story about living with depression in a paranormal world, and using anger as a survival tactic against the demons within and without.

Marie's fiftieth birthday was kind of anticlimactic. There was cake, there were friends, there were the 'over the hill' cards from Spencer's. She bore it all with good humor and then went back to her day job and somewhat-more-than-a-hobby-but-not-by-much witchcraft. ...A week later, she was cursed, bound into the body of a ten-year-old. Cue a trawl through the magic underbelly of $City to find the culprit and/or a cure, chibi-Marie shocking everyone with her salty language, and, well, Detective Conan meets Dresden Files meets, I dunno, Gilmore Girls or something.
