Another one of those silly crossovers I do sometimes.

Okami/Transformers. Yes, really.

"Are you absolutely sure this is necessary."

Rodimus stared at the (apparently) magical mallet at his feet, brought to him by an even-more-magical white wolf. Even more than Rodimus himself, Amaterasu wore her divinity openly, the swirling red marks over her fur identifying her as more than met the eye. To drive the point home, the wolf barked at Rodimus commandingly - he might have said imperiously, but he'd been imperious'd at by a certain Seeker and nothing else would ever compare. This was more of a 'creator knows best' command.

"Okay," he sighed, sinking gently to his knees. "Hit me."

Amaterasu picked the Lucky Mallet up and, with a toss of her head, flicked it into the air. Rodimus held perfectly still as the magical relic reached its apex and descended, refusing to flinch as it fell to knock him right between the optics. "Ow," Rodimus protested, more affronted than hurt, and then had to stifle a cry as alien energy flooded his body.

Everything tingled, like he'd been filled with aerated energon. His tank clenched against vertigo as the surrounding buildings, Amaterasu, even the sky seemed to grow and loom over him. His processor struggled to compensate, even though he knew what was really happening. His surroundings weren't growing - he was simply shrinking. Rodimus was suddenly grateful to be kneeling, knowing he would have fallen on his aft and made a fool of himself in front of the wolf goddess if he'd insisted on standing. He was even more grateful when the lurching sensation ceased.

Now kitten-sized, Rodimus staggered to his feet, one hand pressed over his churning tank. "Whoa," he commented, as his stability programming struggled to adjust to the new vantage point. "Whoa." He glanced up (and up and up) at Amaterasu, who radiated warmth now that he was small enough to feel it. The wolf dipped her nose, whining enquiringly. "I'm all right," Rodimus reassured her. "Give me a nano." He shook his head sharply and grinned.

Amaterasu tilted her head, dark eyes intelligent and focused. She rose up from her haunches and took a few careful steps forward, lowering her head to nudge at Rodimus with a cold, wet nose. "Hey," Roddy chuckled, patting her muzzle. "Easy."

Amaterasu curled around him and, with malice aforethought and wickedness unbecoming of a goddess, proceeded to lick him to within an inch of his life.

Roddy sputtered and flailed against the treatment, laughing. "Hey! That tickles!" he protested. "Ahahahahelp!" Amaterasu beamed at him in her wolflike way, tail whisking the air, and Roddy forgave her at once. "All right, all right, you hound," he teased, digging his fingers into soft white fur to give her a good scratch behind her jaw. "Let's go save the world."

Amaterasu barked, joyful tail blurring. Just as she had with the mallet, she got her mouth around Roddy and tossed him skyward. Roddy yelped, tumbled in midair, and landed neatly astride the wolf's broad shoulders.

"Charge!" he cried, pointing dramatically. Amaterasu flicked an ear back at him, amused; Roddy grinned unrepentantly, then yelped and grabbed Amaterasu's fur as she leaped into a full-out run.

...And then they had wonderful adventures together. ;)
