You know that meme that goes around sometimes where you post your five favorite kinks and then five favorite couples, and it's like a wish into the universe to see if anybody will write it for you? Let's make it a little more interactive.
Comment here if you want to play, and I will give you 3-6 couples that I associate with you, and you make an entry in your journal talking about those couples and fics that you wish the universe would write for you.
In other words, here's a primer on how to make me offer you my firstborn child. :D
1. Rodimus Prime | Hot Rod &or/ ANYONE (you make me think of Roddy)
Geez, who don’t I ship Roddy with? XD I feel like I’m making him out to be an amoral mechaslut or something (*coughIDWRodimarsecough* *atleastinfanoncough*), but - well, he’s my baby and I want him to be happy. <3
…barring the odd foray into noncon, bad things happening, or Piles Of Stress, but no hurt without comfort, I always say.
Really, that’s what I wish I could find more of in fic. I mean, porn is great - I should know, most of the Galvatron/Roddy porn on AO3 is mine, much to my mingled smugness and dismay - but all I really want is for people to appreciate him as much as I do. I’d love to read something about Roddy being a good leader (because he bloody well IS, thank you very much), being a kind and loyal friend, or being a smart and brave warrior.* While also being a snarky wossname, and someone who doubts himself sometimes, and someone who makes mistakes sometimes. Because I love him for those qualities as well.
*Not that there aren’t a few fics like that, but not nearly as many as Optimus gets.
2. Cloud (favorite pairing/relationship/friendship?)
I admit that I am a shameless Sephiroth/Zack/Cloud/Aeris shipper, which makes me super addicted to fixit fic. XD Either pregame or postgame, depending on how much fluff I’m in the mood for. Cloud and Tifa, while I like them a lot more than I used to, just don’t work for me as a romantic pairing. Close friends? Absolutely. With benefits? Indubitably. But the spark was never there for me, even when I got the good ending with her.
3. Do you ship in TMNT? Or better, what kind of fic do you WANT for the Turtles?
Honestly? I don’t do a lot of shipping in this fandom. Not with anyone in canon. I mean, turtlesex doesn’t squick me, I’m all for them finding nice girlfriends/boyfriends/whatev, but - I dunno, I grew up on the old cartoon and April was always more of a big-sister type in that. I guess I just find the friendships more compelling than any possibility of sexytiems, given their situation and how isolated they grew up.
Turtlecest, unfortunately, is right out. Personal squick.
As for what fics I want to see… I dunno. I’m not as active in the TMNT fandom. I guess if I had to pick I’d say either crossovers with MCU or Transformers (which I am kind of off-and-on working on myself, ahem), or older!Turtles fic where they’re kind of establishing their place in the world and doing more with their lives than battling the bad guy of the week. We saw a little bit of this in the CGI TMNT movie, with Donny working his own tech support business and Mikey… well, the less said about what Mikey was doing the better. XD I’d love to somehow see Leo open a dojo serving underprivileged kids, for example, I think he’d love to pass his knowledge on. Great vehicle for interesting fanchars to jump in, too. :D
