Crossover Avengers with ALL THE THINGS.
Anyone else think Coulson and Optimus Primal would get along? No? Just me, then.

Two helicarrier-sized ships hardly counted as an alien invasion, but after New York SHIELD was understandably a bit gun-shy. Phil Coulson spent the entire flight to British Columbia on the phone to the Lieutenant-Governor of the province, alternately assuring her that the rights of both the native fauna of the region and the Canadian armed forces would be respected and firmly stating that the Avengers were not their best option at this point. Yes, they were on call, yes, they would mobilize if they were needed, but a SHIELD detail would be equal to the task of evaluating the threat.
And these were the Canadians. He didn’t envy the SHIELD officer who’d gone to deal with the other spaceship landing in California.
“I see it,” he answered when the pilot indicated they’d made visual contact. “Lieutenant-Governor, we’re approaching the site. I’ll speak to you once we have something definitive.” He hung up and strapped in for landing.
The jet landed a safe distance from the aircraft and held position there, scanning for any kind of signal. No elevated radiation levels, no detectable radio signals, and no movement - no organic life signs whatsoever, the radar operator reported as Phil leaned over the console, peering suspiciously through the windscreen.
“Some kind of drone ship?” the pilot guessed.
“A sophisticated one, if it is,” Phil answered. “That flight-path showed signs of course-corrections all the way down. Whoever or whatever is controlling that thing made an effort to touch down in an isolated area.”
“I see signs of damage,” another agent called. “Not consistent with atmospheric entry.”
The pilot cocked an eyebrow at Coulson. “Maybe these guys and the California ship aren’t buddies after all.”
Coulson’s brow furrowed. Just what we need, part of his brain muttered. Another alien turf war.
“Sir, I’m detecting movement,” the spotter called. “I’m bringing it up on screen now.”
Coulson nodded, and the comm screen sprang to life. It took a moment to spot the movement his subordinate had spoke of, its origin point in the shadows underneath the ship. Slowly, though, a figure emerged, lifting its head as if testing the air.
“Is… that a gorilla?” the pilot muttered from behind Coulson’s shoulder.
Which actually turned out to be a surprisingly good question, as a cheetah, a rhinoceros and the biggest rat Coulson had ever seen disembarked from the ship as well.

Actually, Avengers can be crossed over with ALL THE THINGS (and Transformers are actually canonically part of the Marvel Universe) ever since the MCU was acquired by the House of the Mouse and thus put the Marvel Universe potentially in range of the Kingdom Hearts franchise. Now, there's a massive fangirl meltdown in potentia... presumably the main reason it hasn't happened yet is due to noise ordinances (the volume of squee would probably breach regulations in most parts of the world).
