Not much detail on this 'cause karate class kicked my ass.
OC #13: Lightcaster [Transformers: Prime]
Lightcaster descends to Earth to report to Optimus Prime in person about [some stuff goes here]. While she’s there, the kid trio notice that she’s getting a bit of the cold shoulder treatment from the other members of Team Prime, but no one will tell them why until they ask Light herself. “Oh, that,” she says offhandedly. “It’s probably just because I used to be a Decepticon.”
“…wait, what?”
Lightcaster was built as part of the first generation of elite soldiers in Megatron’s army: still essentially a grunt, but one with at least some rank and respectable firepower. She discharged her duties well, but… something just felt off. She asked too many questions, thought too much about things. Didn’t quite fit in. It wasn’t one dramatic moment, but a lot of tiny ones, that pushed her into defecting.
The aftermath was pretty dramatic though. We all know how Megatron feels about traitors.
Lightcaster is a survey plane by build, but she’s capable of fighting like a war jet and taking risks like a Wrecker. She also used to carry a small bomb attached to her spark chamber as a just-in-case measure against live capture, until Ratchet talked her out of it on a subsequent visit to Earth. Despite their chilly reception of her, Lightcaster really respects Team Prime and admires the way they work together. One day she wants to be a valued member of a team like that.
