OC Meme, 30 and 31, and postmortem

Let's round this meme off with some original'verses, what do you say? :DDD

OC #30: Tam [originalfic]

Tam is a courageous and outgoing young woman who studies environmental science in college, with a focus in cryptobiology. Her dream is to get into conservation, which is getting increasingly difficult in her native Florida because of all the invasive species: from minotaurs, basilisks and sirens to the vampire butterflies known as crysanthemum hunters, pushing out Florida’s native salamanders, skunk apes and dragons.

Tam got into cryptobiology thanks to her grandfather, who turned out to be a wizard. Tam only discovered this after his death, and was rather conflicted about it - in this ‘verse wizards are basically either closeted or pushed to the fringes of society. Unfortunately, it seems wizardry runs in families, and Tam has some decisions to make about her future and whether it’s worth sacrificing for the remaining native species of the Everglades.

OC #31: Laramie [originalfic]

Laramie is the charcutier’s son in a tiny pre-industrial village, reviled by the villagers for his resemblance to his mother, a red-haired, independent-minded foreigner who disappeared when he was seven. Laramie spends most of his waking hours exploring the forest, and finds his peace and safety there in solitude. His world changes when he meets Briar, lord of the local flower fae, and shortly after is run from his village entirely and Briar grants him asylum. The two of them begin a sexual relationship - not easy, with Laramie as shy and prickly as he is - but when the fae begin to fall ill of a mysterious blight, Laramie must leave his lover and return to the world of the humans in order to find the source and cure it.

…this is the novel idea I’ve been poking at with various levels of enthusiasm for well over five years now, and I really need to get back to it before another five pass. XD

So, final tally: 53 total OCs, including all those OC-groups. Of those, I've got: 28 young girls; 3 amnesiacs; 7 turncoats; 2 autistic characters (well, one autistic and one autistic-ish); 7 villains; and 12 that started life as my partner's brainchildren. In case you were looking for themes. :D
