OC Meme, 11 and 12

Two today ‘cause I skipped yesterday, but they’ll be short ‘cause it’s already past my bedtime.

OC #11: Kylin [Kingdom Hearts]
When darkness overtakes light, you get Heartless. When light overtakes darkness, you get shit like the Keyblade War.* Maintaining the balance between them is tricky, delicate work, but it’s what Kylin has dedicated her life to - even knowing that one day, one side or the other will consume her heart.

Like Riku, Kylin can wield darkness and use the dark pathways as well as wield a Keyblade; unlike Riku, she doesn’t mope about it. All the activity surrounding Sora-and-friends keeps her busy - the balance is heavily in flux, the darkness dominating, and Kylin has to prune it back without letting it get too pruned and letting the light start flooding in where it’s not supposed to. If she fails, it’s either another Keyblade War or that nothing-but-darkness bit at the end of Neverending Story. Both have happened before, when her predecessors failed. In fact, Kylin has never met her current mentor - she knows the older woman only through messages left behind, which she still finds occasionally as she travels between worlds.

Appearance: black hair in a mixture of thin braids and a spiky knot; green eyes; dresses a bit like Pokemon Trainer Rihanna, more or less. Petite and underdeveloped - could pass for twelve if she dressed younger. Japanese features, natch.

*I’m assuming. KH canon is the Naked Came the Stranger of video game narratives, I have only the shakiest grasp of it.

OC #12: Trapstreet [Transformers G1]

In mapmaking, a trapstreet is a tiny inconsequential road that doesn’t actually exist, which mapmakers insert into their maps in order to catch copiers. In Transformers, Trapstreet is a friendly cheerful black-and-white minibot who works as a counterintelligence agent. Basically her job is to spread misinformation and confusion in the enemy’s intelligence network in order to keep them from finding out anything useful. Her altmode is an ATV, letting her roll easily over terrain too tough for most of her colleagues in the Car subsection.

Trapstreet is a born storyteller. She’s an inventive and devious D&D GM, an actress and a historian, and something of a junior tactician. She’ll lie to her fellow Autobots at the drop of a hat, but only to entertain or comfort, not really to deceive - although sometimes the line gets blurry. Her immediate supervisor is Jazz; her immediate adversaries are usually the cassettes, and she thinks of Soundwave as her personal Final Boss.
