Currently vacationing Up North. Might fall behind again. ;)
OC #27: Eclipse [Transformers G1]
Remember the poll that gave birth to Windblade? I came up with fanchars for all the names they offered up, and Eclipse was one of the ones who stuck around. Eclipse is a telepath along the lines of Soundwave, but rather than use her talent for interrogation she’s actually a war psychologist. Code conflicts that would take other shrinks weeks to untangle take Eclipse just minutes, since she can examine her patient’s thought processes directly. This makes her an invaluable asset in the early days of the war, with so many civilian frames having trouble coping with taking up arms. However, on occasion she’s found it useful to pretend she is an Evil Mind-Reading Interrogator for the benefit of the Decepticons. So she has a bit of a reputation.
Her altmode is - well, I had her pictured as a motorcycle, but since I’m not sure she ever makes it to Earth, let’s say her alt is a lightcycle-looking thing. A hovercycle! :D
OC #28: Julie Saegawa [original story]
The star of my first published short story, “Kinetica.” I’m working on a sequel; if I can get it done by the deadline, you might see it published. Cross your fingers for me.
Julie discovered she had super-strength as a teenager, but swore off crime-fighting after she got shot trying to stop a bank robbery. After graduating college, Julie chose to move to a small, boring Midwestern town in order to avoid any scenario that might tempt her to Save The Day again. However, crime happens in small towns too, and before long Julie’s secret is out. The fallout affects her relationships with her neighbors and her boss at the sign shop until a small horde of alien monsters attack the town, and Julie accidentally discovers that her powers center around motion, not strength. She uses her newfound knowledge - and sacrifices a hand - to accellerate a bullet into the biggest alien monster in order to kill it.
After this event, she moves to nearby St. Louis to join its local super hero team, the Super Saints. (Everyone agrees it’s a dorky name.) She’s learning to use her powers wisely and cleverly, but she still has much to learn about the measure of a true hero…
…dot dot dot. ;)
