aaaaand the pendulum swings to another fandom
Picked up Transformers: Battlegrounds on sale yesterday and, okay, the 'you're playing a human being dangled over the battlefield' conceit is only barely present in the story but it's suuuuuper hitting all my OC buttons to the point where I'm kinda low key dying to write some self-insert fic.
and like judging from AO3's results I'm not exactly alone there, but idk if it's more or less embarrassing that I have never once done a self-insert for the purpose of canon/OC romance. XD I just want to hang out with the giant robots, guys!
regardless, if I do find myself writing something along those lines, I'll probably post it here rather than AO3.
(Good game btw. If you're used to SRPGs it'll probably seem very simplified, but I'm kinda digging the streamlined approach and the emphasis on using cover/environmental features in general to your advantage.)

I think Transformers is the sort of franchise that just begs one to write and/or read about self-inserts/OCs. It was the first time I was ever driven to seek out series upon series of SI too xD Who doesn't want to hang out with giant alien robots?
