the problem i keep running into with the locked tomb series is the same problem i keep running into when writing scenes with more than three people tops in them: too. many. goddamn. people. too many factions, too many angles, too many viewpoints to keep track of. i keep running across tumbls of people talking about all the Deep Lore contained in the character of Keyboardsmash the Whateverth and i'm just like 'whomst?'

don't get me wrong i want the next book in the series. i just think i'd be having less trouble with Gideon the Fourth.

I'm not a huge fan of Regency settings. To me all the Dance of Manners and Social Status etc. isn't a romantic backdrop - it's exhausting bullshit, and I only dabble in it to see someone break it the fuck over their knee.

Maybe that's why I latched onto Lydia Bennett.
